(Eastern Pennsylvania) The Berks County Wine Trail will be celebrating the arrival of fall with its 3rd annual ARTISAN WINE & CHEESE PAIRING EVENT WEEKEND on Saturday October 10th and Sunday October 12th from Noon to 5 PM both days. Tickets are on sale now; and it is $10/each for those early birds who’d like to purchase tickets prior to the event. The day of the event, tickets will be $15/each.
Tickets can be purchased from any of the eight participating Berks County Wine Trail Wineries – just phone any one of them or stop in to visit your local winery and get your Artisan Cheese tickets.
This event is a delicious opportunity to sample artisan crafted cheeses made by local cheesemakers and pair them with a diverse array of fantastic PA-produced wines. How can one resist a pairing of a hard Provolone with a soft Cayuga, or a port wine cheese with stunning Steuben Blush? An array of smoked cheeses paired with wines made form North American grapes. How about a popular horseradish cheddar or garlic/herb cheese paired with a sublime Riesling? A complete menu of the featured wine and cheese pairings will be posted on the wine trail website between now and the event weekend. This year, back by popular demand, the bonus feature during this event will be samplings of fresh gourmet Asian Pears from the Lehigh/Berks area Subarashii Kudamono Asian Pear orchards. A unique variety of Asian Pear will be featured at each winery during this event. Stupendous Pennsylvania wines, amazing artisan cheeses from the region, and juicy local Asian Pears will make this a “can’t miss out” foodie event.
